Cyberpunk's Bugs Would Be More Charming Without The Hype & Crunch Yes, it's frustrating to have to reload a save in Cyberpunk 2077 because a certain progression path is locked for some unknown reason - but if the dialog and cutscenes that follows the reloaded save are good enough, players won't care. The more options games give players, the more behind-the-scenes work it takes for the game to adjust to the outcomes of those options, and in games like Cyberpunk and Fallout where players are making decisions that (should) affect the world around them constantly, this can be a lot for game engines to juggle.

Related: Cyberpunk: Can You Change Hairstyle, Piercings, & Tattoos Later?Ĭertain quests in Fallout: New Vegas, like the one which takes place at the Ultra-Luxe casino and tasks players with determining the outcome of a very pivotal meal, are remembered just as much for how enjoyable they are as they are remembered for being buggy and broken. Despite the game's many technical problems, however, Fallout: New Vegas continues to be at the top of many fans' favorite Fallout game lists, and for good reason - much like Cyberpunk 2077, the game can be shockingly immersive and fun to play, even with its issues. There's a lot of bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 which are eerily reminiscent of those found in Bethesda-published games like Fallout 76 and Skyrim. Although development of Fallout: New Vegas was spearheaded by Obsidian Entertainment (a company which included former early Fallout game developers) it was still based on the engine Bethesda had used for Fallout 3, and it brought with it numerous issues and bugs both players and developers would struggle with. At launch, both Fallout: New Vegas and Cyberpunk 2077 were also riddled with bugs and glitches. Both games offer players the chance to experience a compelling main story where the main character is nearly killed and then goes on a quest for revenge, and both also feature numerous side quests, tangential content, and a variety of gameplay options which allows players to create a very specific type of character build on each playthrough. CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 sure feels a lot like Fallout: New Vegas, in ways which are both incredibly enjoyable and also endlessly frustrating.
